Media One Hotel announces key appointments

Media One Hotel, the stylish and contemporary new property set to open at Dubai Media City in October, has made several key appointments across operations, housekeeping and engineering as part of its pre-opening preparations. Esra Parin joins as Director of Food and Beverage, Nadine O’Connor is appointed Executive Housekeeper and David Rees joins as Chief Engineer.

Speaking about the new executive team, Cora De Conceicao-Stuart, General Manager of Media One, commented: “It is great to have such a strong set of talented and experienced individuals in place for the pre-opening of Media One Hotel. I am thoroughly enjoying working alongside Esra, Nadine and David. Together as a team we have a fabulous dynamic. Energy levels are exceptionally high and everyone is focused on one objective – to ensure we are ready to open and deliver a refreshingly new hotel experience.”

Esra Parin, of Turkish origin, joins Media One with over 19 years experience in the hospitality industry. As Director, she will be responsible for the entire food and beverage operations across the hotels cafes, bars and restaurants.

Parin brings with her a unique mix of experience from positions such as Banquet Manager, Director of F&B, Catering and Conferences at global hotel brands including Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton, to F&B positions on Caribbean cruise liners and at leading restaurant companies. Before joining Media One, Parin was Director of Operations for a leading Turkish food and beverage company.

Australian born Nadine O’Conner joins as Executive Housekeeper. With her extensive experience in housekeeping she is determined to train and develop her team to deliver high quality standards, from in room amenities to well laundered uniforms and from overall decor to spotless recreational facilities.

O’Connor was previously Executive Housekeeper at The Palace Hotel, The Old Town, Dubai where she was also part of the pre-opening team. Prior to this she held executive housekeeping positions at the Dusit Thani Hotel Dubai and Al Bustan Rotana Hotel. Before moving to the UAE in 2002, Nadine worked at a number of resorts, hotels and casinos in her home country of Australia.

David Rees is British and takes up helm as Media One Hotel’s Chief Engineer. Previously Rees was Facilities Manager at The Edge Management at Dubai International Financial City (DIFC). His career includes 32 years in the British Armed Forces and Royal Navy where he achieved rank of Chief Petty Officer Marine Engineer. He received the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) in 2003 for outstanding Service and Dedication and was awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal with Bar for 30 years service in the Royal Navy.

Having left the forces in 2005, Rees relocated to the UAE and went on to work as Resident Engineer at the Jumeriah Beach Hotel. From here he took up post as Senior Engineer for the Engineers Office, a facilities management team handling a number of properties for the Dubai royal family.

Owned by Al-Jaber Group and located in the bustling area of Dubai Media City, Media One is a mixed use development comprising a hotel and offices. The hotel, tailored to the savvy business traveller, occupies the first 23 floors of the 43 story tower and offers a collection of cafes, bars and restaurants, a gym, outdoor pool and terrace. It also houses a fully equipped business centre, seven meeting rooms, and a selection of retail outlets, a spacious lobby and ample parking. The upper 20 floors of the property is dedicated office space, accessible through a separate entrance and lobby area with easy entry to the hotel facilities.
